We had a wonderful stay at Le Bouclier d'Or! Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. We had a very nice breakfast also. I wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is fantastic! The location is perfect, surrounded by pedestrian streets with all manner of shopping, restaurants, pubs and attractions. The walk to the cathedral is about 15 minutes. This was one of the best designed layouts of any hotel room we have stayed in (and we are experienced world travelers). The room size, and bathroom size was luxurious (The shower was an amazing rain forest, and it was huge). There was a separate WC. The bed, and bath linens are first class. The furnishings and decor was tasteful, but not over done. It just oozed quality. There are ample electrical outlets where you need them, and a partially stocked mini-fridge with complementary beverages. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The valet, even kept track of a leaky tire on our car for us. In fact the owner, Madame Jung, is a presence in the hotel, often working late to ensure the comfort of her guests. My only suggestion for improvement is to adopt a policy of never leaving the reception unattended. The common spaces of the hotel are not air conditioned, and it was close to 90 degrees F. When you are waiting 30 minutes or more for someone to appear at reception, with no indication of when that might happen(there is no bell), it can be very uncomfortable and well frustrating....
